2019 Herring Spawn on Calvert Island
In March 2019, droves of herring swam into Pruth Bay on the BC Central Coast. Male herring turned the waters milky white as they fertilized the millions of eggs laid by the females. And where the herring spawn, the predators aren’t far behind.
